Succulent & Cacti Gnome Garden In Pot

MY VERY OWN GNOME GARDEN IN A POT

(No Gnomes were harmed in the process)

 gnome

As many women and I am sure some men do, I wanted to do a little sprucing up to my back yard/patio area.  I had a couple of cacti and a succulent that were quickly outgrowing their pots so…Gnome Garden in a Pot was born! This was created using some items I already had at home. Now I do need to provide a disclaimer; I am self taught, no prior experience had.  As you will see further into this post is that I started the succulent/cacti garden as a “shell/mermaid” theme, however, during the process I decided to change it to a gnome garden instead.  I have provided both ideas for you guys in case you wanted another type of garden in a pot.  Of course the “shell/mermaid” theme was never completed on my end, which means, the door is open to use your creativity in the way you choose. Happy Creating!

How To:

  1. Start with the urchin shells and hot glue on top of the other to create a tower.

2. Glue any other shells together you’d like as part of your decor.  I glued my little spotted shells to kind of resemble a snail of sorts. 🙂

4.  Plant your succulents and cacti into the pot by created a small hole big enough for the plant to fit nice and snug and cover the bottom of the plant with your soil.

5. Arrange River Rock to the left of your pot. (you may arrange how you please. Instructions are for how I did mine.) I placed my “tower” someone in the center as my guiding point of where everything else should go.

6. Arrange the rest of the shells and pearls around the plants. I used pearls to simulate a “stream” or “road.”
